Deputy speaker’s wife Anwara Begum dies
Anwara Begum died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at around 11am
Anwara Begum, wife of deputy speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah, has died today in the capital.
She was 67.
Swapan Kumar Biswas, public relations officer of deputy speaker confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
He said, Anwara Begum died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at around 11am.
According to sources, recently deputy speaker and his wife visited Gaibandha-5 constituency to distribute Eid gift to people. Anwara Begum seriously felt sick there and she was admitted to Dhaka Central hospital.
On the following day she was shifted to CMH. Anwara was put on life support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mourned at the death of Anwara Begum.
In separate statements they prayed for the departed soul and shared condolence to the member of family.
