New York police appoint Bangladeshi woman for the first time

New York Police Department (NYPD) in the US recently for the first time appointed a Bangladesh-origin woman as Sergeant.
Nessa, who immigrated to the US at the age of 21, was appointed on 12 May.
NYPD and US Embassy Dhaka official Facebook page celebrated her joining on the occasion of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM).
"During #AAPIHM we celebrate her trailblazing achievement," the US Embassy Dhaka Facebook handle wrote on Thursday.
