Northern districts shiver as mercury drops to 5.5°C in Kurigram
According to the Met office, the weather may remain unchanged and cold waves may continue
The bone-chilling cold conditions prevailed in northern districts as the lowest minimum temperature was recorded 5.5 degree Celsius in Kurigram's Rajarhat on Sunday morning.
This is due to the severe cold wave that is sweeping over Kurigram and Rajshahi, according to the Met office release.
Mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Mymensingh division and elsewhere over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Nikli, Srimangal, Khulna, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Barishal and Bhola.
According to the Met office, the weather may remain unchanged and cold waves may continue.
Today's minimum temperature of Dhaka city has been recorded 11.7 degrees Celsius, said the release.
"Weather may remain dry over the country. Moderate to thick fog may occur over the country during midnight to morning," it read.
Night temperature may fall slightly over Chattogram & Barishal divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged.
