A murder case has been filed over the death of the physician Dr Kazi Sabira Rahman Lipi, 36 hours after the incident.

New Market-Kalabagan Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Sharif Mohammad Faroquzzaman confirmed the matter to Jago News saying, "Rezaul Hasan Majumder Jewel, a cousin of the deceased Dr Sabira, filed a case with Kalabagan Police Station at midnight on Tuesday. However, no accused was named in the case."

Kalabagan Police Station and the Detective Branch (DB) of the police are investigating the incident.

The body of physician Sabira Rahman, 47, was recovered from her flat in Kalabagan, Dhaka on Monday.

The body of Sabira bore four wounds from a sharp weapon and burn injuries on her back. The body of the doctor was recovered after extinguishing the fire in the flat. She used to work as a sonology consultant at Green Life Hospital in the capital.
