Municipal mayor’s wife, son among 3 killed in Faridpur road crash
Besides, four people including the mayor Nimai Sarker were injured in the accident
Three people including wife and son of newly elected municipal mayor were killed in a road accident on Bhanga-Gopalganj highway in Kaliamor area of Nagarkanda upazila on Wednesday night.
The deceased were identified as Sanchita Sarker, wife of Nagarkanda municipal mayor Nimai Sarker and his son Gobinda Sarker while another deceased was identified as Kamal Matubbar, friend of the mayor.
Besides, four people including the mayor Nimai Sarker were injured in the accident.
Omar Faruk, officer-in-charge of Bhanga highway Police, said that the accident took place around 9:30pm on the way as the bus 'G F Paribahan' hit a microbus carrying them, leaving three dead on the spot and four injured.
The injured people were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital.
The condition of mayor is also critical, said the OC.
