Routes of 'Shaheedi March' today commemorating a month since fall of Hasina-led govt
The "Shaheedi March" which is scheduled to begin at 3pm today from the base of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University.
Today marks one month since the fall of the Sheikh Hasina regime, and the Anti-discrimination Student Movement yesterday announced a nationwide event titled "Shaheedi March" to honour the martyrs of the uprising.
After beginning at Raju Memorial, the march will then move to Nilkhet, Newmarket, Kalabagan, Mirpur Road, Manik Mia Avenue and Sangsad Bhaban, Farmgate, Karwan Bazar, Shahbagh and circle back to Raju Memorial, finally ending at the Central Shaheed Minar.
While speaking at a press conference held at the DU's TSC auditorium yesterday, Sarjis Alam, a coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, called on students to actively participate in the march to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the movement.
The event aims to mobilise students and the public across the country in a show of solidarity and remembrance.
