The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment has asked for time till Monday to resolve the ticket issue for expatriates returning to Saudi Arabia.

Senior officials of the ministry sat in a meeting with five of the protesting workers when the agitated expatriate workers surrounded the ministry on Wednesday.

Saudi returnee worker Md Riaz said, "The ministry had asked for time until Monday. The ministry will inform the update on that day."

Meanwhile, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed also told reporters that he would update them on the latest steps on Monday.

The expatriates, who got stuck here after returning from Saudi Arabia amid coronavirus pandemic, continued their demonstration for tickets in front of Saudi Airlines office at Karwan Bazar and the ministry in the capital on Wednesday.
