Manager, two others detained with huge stockpile of imported liquor from city hotel
The notice added that 1,542 cans of beer, 984 bottles of foreign liquor and Tk4 lakh in cash were seized from the hotel
The Department of Narcotics Control has detained three people, including the manager of a city hotel, with huge amount of imported liquor in a raid conducted last night (19 September).
The raid was conducted at Hotel Sweet Dream at the capital's Banani, a notice signed by Director (Operations) of DNC Tanvir Mumtaz reads.
"The government has taken zero tolerance policy to control illegal narcotics substances. The raid at Hotel Sweet Dream in Banani was part of a nationwide drive to contain the spread of contraband drugs and liquor," the notice reads.
The notice added that 1,542 cans of beer, 984 bottles of foreign liquor and Tk4 lakh in cash were seized from the hotel.
"The bar of Hotel Sweet Dream has license. But the seized liquor did not have permission for selling. These liquor will be sold through Parjatan Corporation if they don't reach their expiry date," the notice added.
