A madrasa teacher has been arrested for sexually assaulting a girl of the institution in Muradnagar upazila of the district.

The arrestee Mawlana Md Hasan is the headmaster of Umme Hani Women Madrasa and a resident of Nimaikandi village of the upazila.

Some teachers of the madrasa said many of their students have brought allegations of sexual assault against the headmaster. Some students even left the madrasa due to the indecent behavior of the headmaster, they added.

On this ground, teachers and local guardians jointly submitted a written allegation to the police on Saturday.

Police arrested Mawalana Md Hasan from the madrasa responding to the written complaint, said Md Sadequr Rahman, officer-in-charge of Muradnagar Police Station.

He will be sent to jail after producing before a court, the OC added.

On 23 September 2019, Md Hasan was sent to jail over the same allegation by a student. But he started repeating the same things after getting bail on that case, the madrasa teachers alleged.
