Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted that rain may occur in many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Chattogram division," said a Met Office weather bulletin here today.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said the bulletin.

The highest temperature on Thursday was recorded 36.6 degree Celsius in Rajshahi, while today's minimum temperature was 24.5 degree Celsius in Chattogram and Rangamati.

The sun sets at 5:58 pm today and rises at 5:46 am tomorrow in the capital.
