Officers-in-charge of eight police stations and 26 inspectors working in Cox's Bazar district police were transferred at a time on Thursday.
A gazette notification, signed by Dr Md Mainur Rahman Chowdhury, additional inspector general of police at the Police Headquarters, confirmed their new workplaces.
According to the notification, the transferred police officials have been asked to leave their current workplaces by September 29 and attend a briefing at Rajarbag Police Auditorium on September 30.
Earlier this month on September 16, Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain was transferred from the coastal district which hit the headlines for months after the killing of major (retired) Sinha Md Rashed Khan on the night of July 31 in the Marine Drive area of the district.
Few days later, another seven police officials of the additional superintendent of police rank were transferred from the district. Meanwhile, the Cox's Bazar police arranged a farewell ceremony for ABM Masud today.
It is mentionable that the case filed by slain Sinha's family appealed for adding ABM Masud's name on the accused list but was dismissed by a Cox's Bazar court. Subsequently, the transfer order came one after another from the police headquarters.
