3 jail guards suspended over prisoner’s escape
On early Saturday, prisoner Mintu Mia escaped from Sir Salimullah Medical College, also known as Mitford Hospital.
Dhaka Central Jail authorities have suspended three jail guards following the escape of a prisoner.
Iqbal Kabir Chawdhury, senior jail superintendent of Dhaka Central Jail, told The Business Standard today.
On early Saturday, prisoner Mintu Mia escaped from Sir Salimullah Medical College, also known as Mitford Hospital in the capital.
The 28-year-old was admitted to the hospital on August 28 evening with symptoms of respiratory distress (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and chest pain, said Brig Gen Kazi Rashid-un-Nabi, director of the hospital.
Mintu Mia is accused in a narcotics case filed at Gopalpur Police Station in Tangail. He was shifted from Tangail District Jail to Keraniganj Central Jail for treatment.
