Commander Khandaker Al Moin on Thursday took charge as director of the Legal and Media Wing of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
He replaced Lt Col Ashiq Billah, read a press release.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin was commissioned in the Bangladesh Navy with the 45th BMA Long Course. He also served in the United Nations Mission in Darfur, Sudan.
Commander Moin joined the RAB in December 2019 on deputation.
As the director of Communications and MIS Wing, Moin played a significant role in accelerating RAB's campaign activities. He also introduced the Onsite Identification and Verification System (OIVS) which helps to identify criminals faster.
Moin previously served as the Deputy Director of the Intelligence Branch at the RAB Forces Headquarters from 2007 to 2010.
He was awarded the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) in 2009 for his commendable contribution in the arrest of the accused of the 2004 Dhaka grenade attack case.
