Journalist Zafar Wazed reappointed as PIB director general 

Prominent journalist Zafar Wazed has been reappointed as the director-general of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB). 

Zafar Wazed will hold the post for the next two years on the condition that he would sever professional affiliation with other institutions and organisations.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a gadget notification regarding his appointment, saying that the recruitment will come into effect from 21 April or the day he will join. 

 In recognition of his contribution to journalism, Zafar Wazed was awarded the country's second-highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2020. Zafar hailed from at Daudkandi in Cumilla.
