Issuing death threat: Fakhrul, two others secure bail
The two others are the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Goyeshwar Chandra Roy

A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted bail to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and two other BNP leaders in a case filed over threatening to kill Bangladesh Jononetri Parishad President AB Siddique.
The two others are the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Goyeshwar Chandra Roy.
Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder passed the order upon a bond of Tk5,000 for each.
Earlier on August 5, AB Siddque filed a case with the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court against nine BNP leaders for issuing death threats to the complainant.
Other BNP leaders include BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Rizvi Ahmed.
The court later issued arrest warrant against them. But they filed a petition at the High Court seeking anticipatory bail. However, the lower division of the Supreme Court directed them to surrender before the lower court.
In his complaint, AB Siddique also alleged that a group of unknown BNP leaders and activists stopped him on his way to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court and asked him to withdraw all cases he filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman, Mirza Fakhrul and several other BNP leaders.
They also assaulted him and tore down his attire saying that they did this as per the instruction of the BNP leaders mentioned above, he claimed.
The Bangladesh Jononetri Parishad is a pro-Awami League organisation.
