Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon has said the Dohazari-Cox's Bazar railway project will be finished by 2022.
"The complications regarding the project design and land handover has already been solved," he said this morning while speaking as a chief guest at Bangladesh Railway's 41st Annual Sports event held at Pologround Field in Chattogram city.
Nurul Islam also said that his ministry is expanding rail tracks across all the 64 districts of the country.
"The work of the dual gauge from Laksham to Akhaura is underway," he said adding that construction of the bridges are almost at the final stage.
The minister said that the government is working to develop the overall railway sector and change its dilapidated state. In addition, all its properties, which have been grabbed illegally, will also be recovered.
