Indian High Commissioner calls on JS Speaker

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das today made a courtesy call on Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at latter's office at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here.
During the meeting, they discussed the changes in global situation and lifestyle due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, said a press release.
Considering the corona situation, online procedures have been added to the medical system, which has made people's lives easier, said Dr Shirin.
High Commissioner Riva Ganguly praised the Government of Bangladesh for successfully carrying out all the activities virtually, keeping the fact in mind that people need to stay home to keep themselves safe.
The Indian Ambassador said this is a significant step towards building a digital Bangladesh, as per the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Terming India as a friendly country, JS Speakersaid cooperation between the two neighboring countries on issues of mutual interest would continue further.
The Speaker also thanked the outgoing Riva Ganguly Das, for her successful performance of duties as the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
Senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat were also present at the meeting, added the release.
