Just after presenting ten diesel locomotives to Bangladesh, Indian Railways is also contributing to exports of cloths, grains and oil to the country.

While North Central Railways (NCR) of India has started contributing its share of grains and oil, Western Railway is going to send a special parcel train with textiles, colors and chemicals from Kanakariya in Gujarat to Benapole in Bangladesh.

Prayagraj division of NCR has loaded 2464 tonnes of maize for export to Bangladesh thus generating freight revenue of Rs 55 lakhs, reports Pledge Times.

Similarly, on Jhansi division, De Oil Cake (DOC) was loaded from Rayaru station to Rohanpur in Bangladesh on Sunday, generating freight revenue of Rs 54 lakhs, reports The Times of India.

In case of export between Gujarat and Bangladesh, if the export work is done by truck, then the transportation cast will increase considerably. Due to this, preparations are being made to export goods trains. This will reduce the cost of transportation, which will have an impact on the price. Due to cheaper goods, business will accelerate.

India has always been exporting onions to Bangladesh. In the past, for the first time, a goods train was moved from Dhoraji station in Gujarat to Darshana station in Bangladesh, which was full of onions.

Traders of both the countries were constantly trying to export onion from goods train between Dhoraji to Bangladesh (Darshana). For this, some changes were made at Dhoraji station, so that there is no problem in loading there.

Chief public relation officer (CPRO) of NCR, Ajeet Kumar Singh informed that IR has taken series of steps like the formation of BDUs; short term and long term improvements in loading infrastructure and user amenities in 17 goods sheds; bringing efficiency in freight train operation and implementing various incentives in freight loading.

"To create awareness among existing and prospective freight customers, Prayagraj, Jhansi and Agra divisions have also prepared leaflets containing infographics on various freight incentive schemes, contact details of business development units, brief details of division, QR code-based link for freight fare calculator, QR code-based link for downloading important circulars related to freight loading etc", said Singh.
