Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan is going to sit in a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Truck Covered-Van Owners and Workers Unity Council at 9pm on Wednesday to discuss over the strike they called following enforcement of Road Transport Act 2018.

The meeting will be held at home minister's residence in Dhanmondi, Public Relations Officer Sharif Mahmud Opu told the Business Standard.

Covered van workers' leaders are coming to the capital for the meeting.

President of Tangail district Covered-Van Owners Association, Showkat Reza said, "There are many problems with the law. The law has a provision that fines the owner of the vehicle if the driver is found to drive the vehicle without a licence. As an owner, I am not always aware of who is driving the vehicle. So, I think six or seven sections of the law need amendment."
