Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has blamed Awami League men for rampages that were carried out in Dhaka, Narayanganj, Brahmanbaria and Chattogrm during Hefazat protest from 26-28 March. 

"No one can show any Hefazat leaders or activists with any arms at hand their during the protests," Hefazat's Central Organising Secretary Maulana Azizul Haque said during a protest rally at Baitul Mukarram premises today.

"Chhatra League, Juba League and Awami League men have carried out the violence with the police," he claimed.

Hefazat is holding a protest rally at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Dhaka city unit ot Hefazat has organised the rally.

The Islamist group locked into sporadic clashes with members of law enforcement agencies from Friday to Sunday in Chattogram, Brahmanbaria, Dhaka and Narayanganj during their protests and hartal over Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit.
