Hearing on e-mutation, cases thru’ live video soon: Land secretary

Land Secretary Md Mustafizur Rahman has said hearing of e-mutation and miss-cases will be started through videoconferencing soon.

"It will reduce the suffering of people in land mutation and the rate of receiving services in person at land offices also will be reduced," he said.

The secretary said this while presiding over a coordination meeting with the divisional commissioners at the land ministry's conference room at the secretariat on Sunday, said a press release.

The secretary further said the ministry's primary work is policymaking.  If the issues that can be solved at the field level are resolved there, the speed of work will then increase further.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury had earlier given a directive, regarding the hearing through videoconferencing.

The meeting also discussed land issues such as online land development tax, e-mutation, digital record room, inter-district land disputes, construction of land offices, manpower recruitment, etc.

Chairman of Land Appeal Board Ummul Hasna, Chairman of the Land Reform Board Md Mostafa Kamal, country's all the divisional commissioners and additional secretaries of the land ministry also attended the meeting.
