WaterAid introduces public toilet access cards
Through this card, WaterAid will provide a group of marginalised people with free access for water and toilet facilities in any of the 29 public toilets it has constructed

WaterAid today launched public toilet access cards, distributing them amongst a group of marginalised people near the Gabtoli inter-district bus terminal public toilet – one of its first public toilets in Dhaka.
This was done in collaboration with Dhaka North City Corporation, Dustha Shathya Kendra (DSK) and the Gabtoli inter-district bus terminal public toilet management committee.
Through this card, they will provide a group of marginalised people with free access for water and toilet facilities in any of the 29 public toilets that WaterAid, in collaboration with both Dhaka city corporations, have constructed over the past five years.
The card will soon be distributed in all other areas where the public toilets are currently operational.
Md Abbas Uddin, president of the Dhaka District Transport Labor Union and member of Gabtoli inter-district bus terminal public toilet management committee, chaired the event.
Among others, WaterAid Bangladesh Country Director Hasin Jahan, DSK Director Dr Mahmudur Rahman, Gabtoli public toilet management committee Chairman and General Secretary of Dhaka Bus-Truck Owner's Group Jalal Uddin, and General Secretary of Dhaka District Transport Labor Union Aman Ullah, were also present at the event.
