Ramadan Tips: Fasting and Heart Surgery
  • Fasting may not be possible for those who have recently had heart surgery to give the body the best chance of healing.
  • These patients, ideally, should avoid fasting or going on a restrictive diet for at least six weeks.
  • Those, who are taking blood thinners (anticoagulants) or any medication for irregular heartbeat, should avoid fasting unless the surgeon has given the all-clear.
