Kanak Kanti re-elected president of Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons
He has been elected president of the organisation for the fifth consecutive time
Professor Kanak Kanti Barua, distinguished Neurosurgeon and vice-chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, has been elected president of the Bangladesh Society of Neurosurgeons for the fifth consecutive time, says a press release.
Dr Mohammad Zainul Islam has been elected general secretary of the organisation.
In the election held on Thursday, candidates to four out of 13 posts were elected unopposed. They are Senior Vice-President Professor Sheikh Sader Hossain, Vice-President Professor Dr Akhlakh Hossain Khan, Treasurer Dr Md Shafiul Alam and Science Secretary Dr Sudipta Kumar Mukherjee.
Dr Md Rafiqul Islam and Dr Md Shahnewaz Bari were elected as joint secretary and publicity and publication secretary, respectively.
Professor Dr SM Noman Khalid Chowdhury, Associate Professor Dr KM Tariqul Islam, Assistant Professor Dr SIM Khairun Nabi Khan, Dr Munsur Ahmed and Dr Colonel Md Aminul Islam were elected as members of the executive committee of the organisation.
