High Court seeks medical test price lists
The court directed the DGHS to submit the list by October 7
The High Court has directed all private clinics, hospitals, laboratories and diagnostic centres in the country to submit new lists for the latest pricing of all types of medical tests.
The court directed the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to submit the list by October 7.
Also, the court has asked for the latest information on finalising the draft policy in accordance with the Medical Practice and Private Clinics and Laboratories (Regulation) Ordinance, 1982, by the same day (October 7).
Dr Bashir Ahmed, the petitioner and lawyer in the case, confirmed the matter.
A HC bench comprising of Justice JBM Hasan and Justice Khairul Alam passed the order on Wednesday.
Earlier on September 1, the same court directed concerned authorities to submit charts listing the fees for medical tests by September 9. But since the authorities failed to submit the lists on time, the court issued the order again.
On July 24, 2018, the HC directed private clinics, hospitals, clinical laboratories and diagnostic centres to publicly display their charges and fees for medical tests.
