Eminence and BUHN arrange Urban Health Policy Dialogue webinar

Eminence Associates for Social Development and Bangladesh Urban Health Network (BUHN) jointly arranged an exclusive Urban Health Policy Dialogue Webinar at Zoom on Thursday.

According to a press release issued, Dr David Nabarro, strategic director of 4SD and special envoy of the directorate general of WHO on Covid-19 was the special guest speaker at the webinar.

Chief executive officer of Eminence, Dr Shamim Hayder Talukder moderated the webinar, the press release said.

Dr Nabarro said, "Collective action is the key to the future. We need to invest enough in the local level public health systems for the continuation of regular health care services during the pandemic situations like this."

"We need a worldwide campaign on Covid-19. It should be led by the practitioners of the local level in the cities, villages, communities, groups, societies. The community should be strengthened, empowered and equipped with updated information and knowledge to fight the impacts of the pandemic," he added

Dr Nabarro expressed his hope about the future of Bangladesh and thanked the leaders of the country for their role in keeping the virus in control.

Dr Shamim Hayder Talukder said, "In Bangladesh, we are trying to engage the civil society for developing a risk communication plan for 2021-2041. We are also working on the development of a digital health care system in Bangladesh."

"We hope we can drive the health system towards the needs of the mass people with some solid contributions to the people of Bangladesh and the world," He added.

The webinar was broadcasted live from the official facebook page of the Eminence Associates for Social Development, the press release informed.
