Hasina's former principal secretary Abul Kalam Azad arrested
DB police arrested him from the capital’s Dhanmondi area today
Police today (5 October) arrested Abul Kalam Azad, former principal secretary to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested him from the capital's Dhanmondi area around 5pm, said Talebur Rahman, deputy police commissioner of the DMP media wing.
When asked in which case Azad was arrested, Talibur said multiple cases were filed against him.
It is yet to be decided in which case Azad would be shown arrested, he added.
