From now on, there are no barriers for the hearing-impaired people to understand the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Grameenphone, the largest mobile phone operator of the country, has made a sign language version of the speech for the hearing-impaired community, says a press release.
The statement termed this initiative a unique attempt of Grameenphone to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu.
The mobile phone operator has brought this facility as part of its initiative to empower the hearing-impaired community.
"We found that they are unable to hear the powerful words, and miss out on the tremendous inspiration it provides to all of us," said Md Hasan, head of external communications of the company.
Driven by our sense of responsibility, we have made the sign language version of the speech for them, he added.
The sign language version of the speech is available on YouTube.
Some remarkable media personalities like Syed Hasan Imam, Aupee Karim, Tahsan Khan, Arafat Sultana Lata, Bidya Sinha Mim, Masuma Rahman Nabila, Manoj Pramanik, Afran Nisho and Gousul Alam Shaon took part to translate the speech in sign language.
