The Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company Limited (KGDCL) has cut off gas supply to the 250-bed Chattogram General Hospital in Andarkilla due to unpaid bills.

Supervisor of the hospital Ashim Kumar Nath said, "The 200 patients currently undergoing treatment at the hospital are in immense suffering due to the cut. We cannot warm up the water for their baths."

KGDCL Managing Director Khaiz Ahmed Majumder said the hospital has pending gas bills worth Tk4 lakh.

"We sent them notices multiple times before disconnecting the line, but they did not respond," he added.
