The elite force held the duo for interrogation
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained an officer and a security guard of Cox's Bazar Sadar Food Depot for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of rice stored in the warehouse.
The detained are the In-charge the food depot Salahuddin and security guard Ridwan Ali.
The elite force held the duo for interrogation and sealed off the depot during a drive on Friday noon, said Upazila Nirbahi Officer AHM Mahfuzur Rahman.

Another official named Kamrul ran away after getting the information about the drive, Mahfuzur Rahman added.
Asked about the drive, Mahfuzur Rahman said that a team of the elite force conducted the drive on the basis of intelligence information and detained the duo.
He said sacks containing 30 kilograms of rice were stored in the warehouse, while those sacks were supposed to contain 50 kilograms of the cereal. So the depot has been sealed off, he added.
Mahfuzur Rahman went on to say that more actions will be taken after investigation.
The Business Standard tried to contact Commanding Officer of RAB-15 over phone to learn about what will be the further action, but could not reach him.
