Five ‘robbers’ arrested in city

The Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested five alleged robbers with equipment used in robbery from Bongshal area on Sunday night.
The police seized five laptops, two vehicles, and cash money from their possession.
The arrestees are Md Mofizur Rahman, Md Mominul Islam, Md Badrul Haque alias Nasir, Md Jamal Uddin, and Md Rahad Sarkar.
They have been involved in robbery for the last three years, they confessed during a primary interrogation.
DMP Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said on Monday that the gangs mainly target corporate offices in Uttara, Dhanmondi, Kalabagan areas in the city. 
The commissioner said Mofizur, an Uber driver, and Mominul, a train attendant, are the leaders of the gang.
The two used to collect primary information of targeted corporate offices. Later, the other three joined them to steal money and other valuable objects from the offices, said the commissioner.
The two have confessed to having operated about 200 cases of theft during the last 15 years.
