Fire at Asian Paints factory in Mirsarai doused
The exact cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage remain unknown at this time
A fire broke out at the Asian Paints factory located in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Shilpa Nagar in Chattogram's Mirsarai on Sunday morning (8 September).
The Mirsarai Fire Service station responded promptly to the incident and successfully brought the fire under control.
No casualties have been reported.
Initially, factory officials attempted to extinguish the blaze using their own equipment before the fire service teams arrived on the scene.
Hayatunnabi, the team leader from the Mirsarai Fire Service Station, told The Business Standard that the fire started on the third floor of the factory.
Upon being alerted, the Mirsarai fire station personnel quickly arrived and contained the blaze by around 11:30am.
Personnel from the nearby Baraiyarhat Fire Service Station also joined in the efforts to control the fire.
Hayatunnabi said the fire had destroyed chemicals and paints stored in the facility.
