The female student of Dhaka University, who filed a rape case against six people, including vice president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur, has vowed to continue her hunger strike until the accused are arrested.

She told The Business Standard on Friday, "I am on a hunger strike to get justice. Students from different departments of my university have expressed solidarity with me."

"I will not step back until the perpetrators are punished," added the protester, a student of Department of Islamic Studies of the university.

She started the hunger strike at around 8:30 pm on Thursday at the base of Raju Memorial Sculpture.

The student filed the rape case on September 20 with Lalbagh Police Station.

Hassan Al Mamun, suspended convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, is the main accused in the case.

In the case, Nur is mentioned as an accomplice to the crime.

After that, on September 21, she filed another case against the six with Kotwali Police Station on allegation of kidnapping, raping and abetting rape under the Digital Security Act and Women and Children Repression Act.
