Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Sheikh Fazle Fahim has expressed his deep grief over the sad demise of the former Indian president Pranab Mukherjee who breathed his last in a Delhi hospital last week.

In his condolence message, the FBCCI president said with the death of India's former president Pranab Mukherjee, India lost one of her great sons and the world is at a loss of a champion of humanity; a visionary leader of impeccable talent, empathy, experience, and wisdom, read a press release.

"People of Bangladesh lost the inspiration of an institution whose contributions for the cause of humanity during our great Liberation War and thereafter is recalled with great reverence," he said.

The FBCCI president also expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for peace for the departed soul.

Mukherjee, in his decades-long political career, served as a Member of Parliament seven times. In 2012, Mukherjee was elected President of India. Before being elected President, Mukherjee was Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012. He was awarded India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, in 2019.
