Family of 6 killed in house fire in Sunamganj's Ashrayan project

A family of six people were killed in a house fire at the Ashrayan project in Sunamganj's Dharmapasha upazila.

The deceased have been identified as Emarul, 50, his wife Poli Akther, 35, and their children Polash, 12, Farhad, 9, Fatema, 7, and Omor Faruk, 3, as per media reports. 

Sanjay Roy Chowdhury, chairman of the Joyasree union, told the media that after the fire broke out, locals were able to douse it. 

However, the house was locked from the inside, and when the locals entered, they discovered all six members of the family dead inside the home, he added.
