European Union delegation visits Anti-Corruption Commission
The European Union has pledged assistance to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in any anti-corruption issue, including money laundering.
A three-member delegation led by Michal Krejza, head of Cooperation at the Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, met ACC Chairman Moinuddin Abdullah at 11am today (1 October).
Since the interim government took over, the ACC has started a vigorous effort to recover the money laundered during the Awami League government. The agency has already met with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US, World Bank and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
During these meetings, there were discussions on how the ACC can get help in returning the money that has been smuggled. At the same time, technical assistance to the ACC was also discussed.
