Ensuring jobs for everyone is biggest challenge: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Qauder on Saturday said that ensuring jobs for everyone is the biggest challenge for the ruling Awami League.

The other challenges are - implementation of the party's election pledges and institutionalisation of democracy, he said after paying rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The newly-elected Awami League Central Working Committee and Advisory Council, led by party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu in the morning.

Quader said that the Tungipara tour has been cancelled due to weather. The joint meeting of the committee will be held on January 3. The decision about the tour will be taken that day.

Sheikh Hasina was elected as President of Bangladesh Awami League - the country's oldest political party - for the 9th consecutive term, while Quader was re-elected as general secretary for the second time in the 21st National Council held on December 20-21.
