Eminent citizens condemn Israeli aggressions in Palestine
Bangladeshi eminent citizens have voiced against the ongoing Israeli strikes that have so far killed at least 183 Palestinians and wounded more than one thousand people there.
In a press statement on Monday issued by Nagorik Somaj, a platform of noted citizens, the international community was asked to take timely action to stop Israeli aggressions in the Muslim country.
The Israeli missiles have completely demolished hundreds of residential buildings, trade and commercial offices, even the media offices in Gaza, a territory of Palestine, they said.
Though the Israeli intense attacks entered second week, the international community were still not taking any steps to bring an end to the brutal aggression, they added.
They also sought fruitful actions from the international community that could bring an end to Israeli aggressions in Palestine which have been continuing for more than seven decades since Israel was born illegally in 1948.
The statement was signed, among others, Sultana Kamal, M Hafizuddin Khan, Badiul Alam Majumdar, Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Khushi Kabir, Rana Dasgupta, Professor Asif Nazrul, Dr Abul Barkat, ZI Khan Panna, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, and Sara Hossain.
