Govt considering alternate means to SSC, HSC exams: Education minister

Education Minister Dipu Moni on Sunday said the government was considering alternative methods to conduct SSC and HSC exams for the current year.
She also noted that the ministry expects to hold the exams based on a shortened syllabus.
She made the remarks following a seminar arranged by Shwapno Foundation at the National Press Club.
Dipu Moni said the government was also considering making the evaluation of SSC and HSC examinees in an alternate method, instead of taking the examinations physically.
"We are monitoring the situation closely," she said.
The minister further said that although there were plans to reopen educational institutes by 13 June, it was postponed till 30 June amid growing Covid-19 infections in the border areas.
"Meanwhile online classes are ongoing. We are trying to find new ways (for evaluation)," she added.
