DPS STS Dhaka continues online activities during the summer holidays

Unlike many schools around Bangladesh, Delhi Public School (DPS STS) Dhaka has continued its education through distance learning during coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. To keep the students productive and stress-free during quarantine, DPS STS Dhaka will continue its online activities during the summer holidays.

Recently, for Mother's Day, the school had encouraged the students from Grades 1 – 4 to write one word on an A4 size paper to describe their mother. A collage has been created, and the video was posted on the school's official Facebook page. Rabindranath Tagore birth anniversary celebration was done with the students as well. The school also arranged an online Photography Exibition for Grades 5 to 12.

There were several online Games such as Boggles, Guess the Brands, Mad Hunt etc. arranged for the students and played on their online classroom. Contests like Cookery, online show & tell, Jingles etc. are also being arranged. Similarly, the administrators, along with the teachers, have prepared various activities for students from all Grades. These activities will help the students to develop communication skills, memorization, sharpen spelling skills, appreciation about the world, increase general knowledge, and many more.

The school has also designed activities that both students and parents have to participate in together. These activities will increase the engagement between the students and parents. Letters of appreciation and certificates will be provided to the participants and the winners.

On this occasion, Madhu Wal, Principal, DPS STS School Dhaka, said, "For the enforcement of social distancing, children are stuck at home and unable to go out for fun. Hence, we decided to arrange several activities to make summer holidays fun for both students and parents. The activities will also be able to develop certain skills among students."

DPS STS School Dhaka is not only arranging online activities, but also organising online stress management programme for both the students and the parents. Several regular online trainings and noteworthy webinars are also going on for the teachers during this summer vacation. A professional yoga session by the yoga instructor Mustafika Akter Bithi has been arranged as well for all the students and parents.

Madhu Wal, added, "Everyone is under stress due to the pandemic. Hence, it is mandatory to manage stress, so it doesn't harm our daily lives and growth. To help the teachers, students and parents to manage stress, we are excited to arrange a stress-free online workshop."

Moreover, all the students' activities conducted during the summer holidays will be posted on the school's official Facebook page.
