BCOLBD nominates 12 teams to International Blockchain Olympiad
All the contestants are university students or recent graduates
The Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh (BCOLBD) has nominated 12 teams to the International Blockchain Olympiad – one of the largest global Blockchain competitions slated to be held in Hong Kong from July 3, according to a press release.
The BCOLBD has a tripartite organising committee comprising top functionaries and leaders from the government, academia and industry, it adds.
The ICT Division and the Leveraging ICT Project (LICT Project) of the government, the International Blockchain Olympiad in Hong Kong and Technohaven Company Ltd are the organising partners, while FBCCI, BASIS and IBA-DU are partners.
The advisors to BCOLBD include State Minister for ICT Zunaed Ahmed Palak, MP, eminent writer Professor Zafar Iqbal, FBCCI President Sheikh Fazle Fahim, MIT Professor Alan Edelman, and President of Hong Kong Blockchain Society Dr Lawrence among others.
Fifty-six leading figures from the government, industry and academia were engaged as jurors and mentors to select the top-performing teams from around the country. The top teams were coached by the mentors in the last one month in preparation for the Olympiad.
This is the first time that participants from Bangladesh are going to participate in the International Blockchain Olympiad, reads the statement.
The contestants are all university students or recent graduates.
The 12 teams nominated to participate are – Hyperactive Orange, Leads Chain, DU_Nimbus, Digital Innovation, TORR, WEIB_3:1, Brogrammers, Aviato, DU Hyperledger, Cosmic Crew, Code Nine BD, and BUET SKAMmers, adds the press release.
