3500 children participate in Aloha Mental Arithmetic competition
The objective of this competition was to test the speed and accuracy of the children
The 13th National Level Abacus & Mental Arithmetic competition 2020 in Bangladesh was held at Bashundhara International Convention City (ICCB) in Dhaka on Saturday.
Around 3500 children from over 600 schools across Bangladesh and 100 students from ALOHA Tripura, India participated in the day long competition, press release said.
ALOHA Bangladesh has been organising such competition in Bangladesh since 2008.
The objective of this competition was to test the speed and accuracy of the children. Within 5 minutes duration of time, the participants were asked to solve 70 complex sums and majority of the students solved 70 complex problems with 100 % accuracy within the due time.
The event started with the National anthem of Bangladesh. Petru Bogdan Stan, Head of Aloha Ireland inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
The award ceremony took place in the second session. Petru Bogdan Stan and special guest Ronobir Roy, Head of Aloha Tripura (India) handed over award to the winners.
The selected winners are going to participate in Aloha International Competition 2020 at Madrid in Spain.
Md Ali Haider Chowdhury FCMA, Managing Director of ALOHA Bangladesh delivered welcome speech at the ceremony, while Saiful Karim, Chairman of ALOHA Bangladesh led the program as session chairman and Shamsuddin Tipu, Director, Aloha Bangladesh was also present.

It helps children build better concentration, self-confidence, sharper observation, keener listening skill, and enhanced memory retention power, and improved analytical skill, better creative and imaginative skill. The program help children learn arithmetic in a fun way and improves their thinking capacity to do better in creative writing, social science, English, Bangla and other subjects", said Md Ali Haider Chowdhury.
