Don't be deceived by anti-vaccine propaganda: DGHS
DGHS team check in on vaccination preparations
Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Saturday called on the people not to be deluded by any propaganda against the Covid-19 vaccination.
"Don't be deceived by the propaganda against vaccines. This vaccine does not cause any serious complications," she said.
She made the remarks while talking to the media after visiting Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital to check in on the preparations for the scheduled vaccination programme slated tomorrow. Nasima was accompanied by a team of DGHS officials during the visit.
She noted that four teams are expected to start the vaccination process.
"The Health Department has already instructed them on their preparations. We paid the visit to see their preparations so far in person," Nasima added.
The DGHS official expressed satisfaction about the progress and said the hospital authority will complete the remaining tasks within the day.
All arrangements have been made for the nationwide vaccination programme scheduled to kick off Saturday.
A total of 613 vaccination centres, including 49 of Dhaka, have been set up across the country to execute the mass-vaccination plan.
The authorities had earlier urged people to complete online registration for vaccines. There will also be an opportunity for getting registered at the vaccination centers and get the jab immediately.
