Fire at New Knit and Dyeing factory in Chattogram

A fire broke out at a factory named New Knit and Dyeing at Sitakund in Chattogram on Saturday.

The fire started at 11.35 am and was brought under control at 3.45 pm.

Ali Akbar, Deputy Assistant Director of Agrabad Fire Station, told The Business Standard that a fire broke out at the New Knit and Dyeing Factory, a subsidiary of S Alam Group, located in the Kadmrasul area of Keshabpur in Sitakunda Upazila.

"Eight fire unit vehicles rushed to the spot after receiving the news and brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage have not yet been determined," Ali Akbar said.

The fire burned clothes and other items in the factory.
