Bangladesh wants greater engagement with the countries in the Middle East on trade, investment and manpower fronts apart from seeking stronger support from those countries to resolve the Rohingya crisis.
Bangladesh envoys posted in the Middle Eastern countries will listen to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at an envoy conference during her forthcoming visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next week.
"The envoy conference was scheduled to be held on January 14. Now the date has been changed and it will be held on January 13 in Abu Dhabi," an Ambassador told UNB over phone on Wednesday night wishing to remain unnamed.
The Prime Minister is likely to give necessary directives with special focus on future works to Bangladesh envoys in the Middle Eastern countries, officials said.
The Prime Minister is likely to leave here for Abu Dhabi on January 12 on an important visit to take forward the relations to next level, said an official.
However, details of the visit are yet to be known.
