Dhaka South removes illegal establishments from Khilgaon graveyard
Executive magistrates of the Dhaka South City Corporation led mobile courts and visited different areas to destroy the breeding grounds of mosquito larvae
The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Wednesday conducted operations to remove illegal establishments and breeding grounds of mosquito larvae from some areas under its jurisdictions.
According to a media statement, Property Officer and Executive Magistrate of Dhaka South City Corporation Mohammad Moniruzzaman conducted a drive in front of the office of the Detective Branch of Police on Minto road and removed illegally stored bricks, sand and others materials and dumped those into the Khilgaon graveyard.
He also removed illegal establishments constructed inside the Khilgaon graveyard.
Earlier, two more mobile courts also conducted drives to remove illegal establishments from this graveyard.
Meanwhile, Dhaka South City Corporation Executive Magistrate Tanjila Kabir Tropa led a mobile court and visited 25 establishments in Hazaribagh tannery area to destroy the breeding grounds of mosquito larvae.
During the drive, she filed two cases against the owners of two under-construction buildings, where mosquito larvae were found, and fined them Tk20,000.
Besides, Dhaka South City Corporation Executive Magistrate AH Irfan Uddin conducted a drive in the city's Gandaria area and visited 24 establishments to detect breeding grounds of mosquito larvae but did not find any larvae there.
