The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today (22 September) arrested Saidul Islam, former president of Dhaka North Chhatra League, in Savar.
RAB-4's CPC-2 Company Commander Jalis Mahmood Khan told The Business Standard that joint forces arrested him in a raid in Savar's New Market area this afternoon.
The Chhatra League leader was later handed over to Savar Model Police Station, he added.
Savar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jewel Mia said Saidul was arrested in connection with a murder during the recent student-led protests.
However, the OC could not confirm the exact number of cases filed against Saidul. "Legal actions will be taken after verifying information about him," he said.
