An elderly woman and her domestic help have been murdered in the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka.

Confirming the matter, Senior Assistant Commissioner (Dhanmondi zone) of police Hasin-uz-Zaman said, "Police found two dead bodies with their throats slit at an apartment on road number 15.

"The victims are Afroza Begum and her domestic help Diti."

Meanwhile, Dhanmondi police station Sub-Inspector Enamul Haque said, "The police have learned that a new domestic help began working at Afroza's home earlier on Friday. She is on the run since the murders were committed."

Police detained Bacchu, the security guard of that building, for primary interrogation.
