The deceased are Abdu Taher, 35, and his daughter Fatema Akhter, 4, hailing from Bashurhat of Noakhali.
"On information, police rushed to the spot at around 9:30am and recovered the bodies from the house in Nimtala area," Kamrul Islam, assistant commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police told The Business Standard.
Police detained Hasina Begum, the wife of deceased Abu Taher, as the prime suspect in connection of the double-murder.
