Another two people have died in Khan Jahan Ali area in Khulna after multiple clashes between the villagers of that area and the supporters of local Awami League leader Sheikh Jakaria Hasan.

The deceased are Saiful Islam, 22, and Jihad Sheikh, 35- both close associates of Jakaria.

Saiful was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital at midnight after being injured in the clash on Thursday. Jakaria died on the same night of mass beating from the villagers.

Dr Selim Reza, a doctor of the emergency department of Khulna Medical College, said, "Jihad was already dead when they brought him at the hospital."

Additional Commissioner (Media) of Khulna Metropolitan Police Kanai Lal Sarkar said, "As of now, total four people have died from the clash in Mashiali. Right now the situation is under control and we are on a continuous operation to apprehend the criminals."

"No case has been filed in this incident yet," he added.

Earlier in Thursday, two persons were shot dead and six others injured in the clash in Khulna's Khan Jahan Ali area on Thursday night.
